Wiltons Course 1 Day 3

Day 3 of the Wilton Course 1 we learnt how to make roses. Quite a hard decoration to do!!!! What do you think? Can you tell they are roses? They are slightly overwhelming on top of a cute cupcake but smaller roses would be gorgeous!!!!!

We also learnt how to make lil faces, another border, some star and drop flowers. And this cute clown!! I can just picture the kids faces if they saw these on a party table!!!! The icing would be gone and we would find all the half eaten cupcakes.

I can't wait for next week when we complete a beautiful cake with all we have learnt. Hmmmmmm, maybe not all. Not sure that a clown sitting next to a pretty rose would look too good...........at least the kids AND adults that get to eat it would be happy though!?!?

Perky Nana cupcakes

Perky Nana cupcakes. Woah, why didn't I try these earlier?!!?!? While at the supermarket the other day looking for some toffees I grabbed a whole lot of different chocolates. Yummy!! Payton loved them and I lost count at how many he ate. Some had gold cachous, Pebbles, mini M&M's and Perky Nana.

Cars cupcakes and cake for Denzyll

These are the chocolate cupcakes and the cake I made for Denzylls 1st Birthday. I used vanilla buttercream for the coloured icing, chocolate ganache for the cake base and chocolate cream in the middle of the cake. Bit of everything but everyone loved them!!! His theme was Disney Cars and this was my first attempt at doing a 3D cake without a tin!!! Can't see it in the pictures but I had car shaped sprinkles, so cute.
